hollie's sexuality in music video

sexuality and the music video.

started in the 80s with the first music video to be banned by mtv was Queens hit- Body Language.  in 1982 even though in 1981 the channel aired the video for Olivia Newton-John song 'Physical'. the difference may be the idea of homoerotic undercurrent in Queens hit.  ever since the sexual exploitation in music videos have become more widespread. the sexual attraction draws attention quickly and can help convey the message. a sample from 80s music videos showed that 60% included some sort of sexual reference.  and in the 90s it rose to just over 89%. in hip-hop and r&b producing the greatest quantity of videos featuring sexual imagry.  over time these have become more and more graphic. in the hip-hop, r&b music culture it emphasises heterosexual and lesbians and of corse, the male fantasy of a menage a trois.

censorship has, of corse. followed the music video from the beginning. the english group Duran Duran had to edit their 1981 video for 'girls on film' has the original fettered topes woman, wrestling in the mud. madonna had many of her early videos  banned for their content. however the censorship in videos  is basically none existent compared to just 10 years ago. 2010 was a year of large sexual content in music videos. one of them being Christina Aguilera's single 'not myself tonight' in which she conducts in sexual activity with both sex. the video was shown on mtv with just a tv-pg rating.

the idea that the videos can cause serious effects mentally has not been supported by research, nether that womanise self- concepts will be negatively effective.
