the track for never say never is for the re-make of the kirate kid featuring will smiths son, jaden smith. the video features clips from the movie and clips from what looks to be a recording studio. the video is upbeat and has a positive and friendly vibe.
the lyrics are playable and can be applied to more then one meaning from sports to love. justin beiber is a tween icon so the video is childfriendly and safe. it shows the pair mucking about and dancing whilst recording the song together as well as editing scenes from the film. the shots tend to be close ups and midshots with very few long shots. this is because the video itself does not have much content so the focus is on the singer.
their are slow sweeping pans between the characters with clips of the film in-between. an example of this is the verse in which beiber sings "theres just no turning back, when your hearts under attack" in which the video changes from justin beiber to a scene with boys in the karate club punching. the clothes with leather jackets and used possibly to make them look tougher and stylish. the section in which jaden smith raps is innocent and adds an extra edge but is more of a token placement rather then nessesry. in his lyrics he mentions his father (will smith. who coincidentally *cough cough* produced, along with his wife the re-make of the karate kid)
the effects used on the editing as well as streaming together clips (seamlessly) they slow down serval shots of jaden smith dancing but apart from that there was very little effects.
